Superduck-A Recently Discovered Dinosaur Fossil
Superduck is a recently discovered dinosaur fossil, unearthed and analyzed by researchers at Montana State University.
Its popular nickname may be reminiscent of cartoon characters. Dispite this, the newly discovered dinosaur species are the complete mystery of evolution that paleontologists and evolutionary scientists trying to accomplished.
Superduck is scientifically known as Probrachylophosaurus bergei. From the mudstone site near Rudyard, unearthed in 2007 in the north and central Montana, the Hadrosaur lived nearly 79 million years ago.
With the evolution of the features placed on the right side of Acristavus and Brachylophosaurus, Superduck is considered to be in the modern living area of the larger western United States. Superduck is a recently discovered dinosaur fossil. An evolutionary feature is to provide a clue that the scientist is its peak.
Acristavus lived before 81 million years ago. This species does not have any responsibility for crests. Brachylophosaurus lived before 77.5 million years ago. Compared to its earlier relative, the crest is now displayed by the proeminent function. With the Probrachylophosaurus bergei, the crest is in the early stages, but it is enough for the paleontolgists to know where the dinosaurs are.
According to Elizabeth Friedman Fowler and the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum, Superduck is really an unexpected surprise:
"We know before and after the life. Now that we have found that is filling this gap" new breed.
Dinosaur fossils unearthed in 2007 was an adult fossil. However, on the same site, a real gold fossil hunter, the researchers also found a teenager Superduck. Looking for both adult and adolescent samples offers a rare opportunity for scientists.
First, the study from childhood to adulthood, and then because of the evolution of species is a strong experience, to provide a deeper understanding of the late Cretaceous North American life. More details on Superduck can be found in research published in PLOS ONE magazine.
